In order to be able to offer you my assistance, it is important first to understand how I define a CONSULTANT and also which type of management services I can provide.

What is a CONSULTANT?

A consultant is generally considered to be a subject matter expert who delivers advice and expert implementation guidance to his clients. A "real" consultant in the classical sense does not perform much or any actual implementation -unless it is to create an example or reference implementation for the benefit of his clients- but instead helps the client to manage it by coordinating (together or in his name) the efforts of other suppliers (contractors…). A consultant is expected to be independent of any product or service, unbiased and only answering to his client –and not to third-parties. A consultant is always on his client’s side.

This term is often confused with another one: “contractor”. A contractor is any-one who merely performs services for a client, in exchange for fees. It tends to be used as substitute employee -although is normally not in the company pay-roll- to carry out tasks for which the client does not have the necessary human resources and, thus regarded as a commodity. In practice, contractors consider themselves as external entities to the client’s business and thus with its own agenda and priorities.

PROJECT MANAGER vs. INTERIM MANAGER
